HYDROGYN: European Tour Postponed
April 14, 2009Ashland, Kentucky-based rockers HYDROGYN have issued the following update:
"It is with much frustration that the band has announced today the rescheduling of the European tour for the fall of this year. Guitarist Jeff Westlake has suffered an injury to his left wrist in an accident and will not be able to play for a three-to-four-week period."
Commented Jeff: "It was just a freak thing that happened and I ended up with my wrist fractured so I will just deal with it and be ready to move on hopefully by mid to late May. I would also like to take this time to apologize to all of our fans who were planning on attending the shows and the promoters as well for all the hard work; we will reschedule the dates for fall and I will be looking doubly forward to doing those dates so hold on to your tickets and we will be announcing the new dates soon."
A video message from Jeff announcing the tour postponement can be viewed below.
HYDROGYN is scheduled to take part in the Flight of the Valkyries festival on June 27, 2009 at Station 4 in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota.
The band will enter the studio on May 21 with producer Michael Wagener (SKID ROW, KING'S X) to begin recording the follow-up to "Deadly Passions". Westlake is hopeful that all will be OK by then, but if not, former bandmate and guitarist Jeff Boggs will be on standby just in case.
"Candles Light Your Face", the latest video from HYDROGYN, can be viewed below. The clip was shot at many different locations over a period of a couple of weeks. It was written and produced by Scott Neill for Mule Media along with some input by HYDROGYN vocalist Julie Westlake. Terry Plybon headed up the actual shooting and editing of the video with the crew from Bak-Pak Productions.
"This is the first video from the new CD and we wanted this to tell a story in the most realistic of ways and I think we managed to do that", said Julie.
"Candles Light Your Face" comes off HYDROGYN's latest album, "Deadly Passions", which was recorded in Huntington, West Virginia's Smash Hits Studio and includes a cover of ALANIS MORISSETTE's mega-smash "You Oughta Know".
HYDROGYN recently announced the addition of drummer Josh Cumberland to the group's ranks. Cumberland comes to HYDROGYN with previous experience on the Universal label with his then-band ERASE THE GREY.
